The Great Hincovo Mountain-lake (1944 m, area of 200,800.- m2, depth 53,7 m) is the largest and the deepest mountain-lake in the Slovak part of the High Tatras mountains. It is situated in the upper part of the Mengusovská Valley right at the Kôprovský Pinnacle. The mountain-lake arose in a big glacier basin surrounded by steep rocky massifs. It is separated from the lower part of the valley by a terrace rounded and smoothed by glaciers.
The name Hincovo Mountain-lake probably comes from an owner of one of the local parcels or a shepherd who ascended for the first time up to the lake.
