It is a small settlement situated on the "Way of Freedom" between Tatranské Matliare and Tatranská Kotlina, in the lower part of the valley Biele Vody (White Water Valley).
A game-keeper´s house from the year 1885 was the first building standing in this area. It offered a tourist accommodation as well.
A simple tourist hotel with several side-buildings was built three years later. A part of the village burned down in 1933.
After the World War 2 the existing buildings were enlarged and reshaped, while several new buildings were added for recreational purposes.
