The Furkotská Valley is 5,5 km long, narrow terraced valley surrounded by the ridge Ostrá and Solisko. It ends at the Furkotský štít (Furkotský Peak).
A yellow marked tourist path ascends from the main path (called magistrála), passes the Furkotské Mountain-lakes hidden in scrub and leads to the Nižné (Lower) and Vyšné (Upper) Wahlenbergovo Mountain-lake, which has the second highest elevation in the High Tatras (it was named according to the Swedish explorer who worked in the Tatras at the beginning of the 19-th century).
The Bystré Saddle above the mountain-lakes can be crossed only if going from the Mlynická to the Furkotská Valley!!! You can get to the valley from the Štrbské Mountain-lake, either on foot following the blue mark ascending the ski-lift at the Chalet below the Solisko hill, or by elevated wire way. Following the red marked path you can get from the Chalet below Solisko up to the Predné Solisko peak (2093,3 m).

STARTING POINT: Štrbské pleso (Štrbské Mountain-lake).
